This day was another successful rest day. No bike riding, no running, no swimming.
I got up to eat several plates of pancakes, then went back to bed to take a nap.
In the afternoon, I walked to a grocery store and loaded up on food for the next few days. It's nice to have a kitchen at my disposal, I plan on eating a bunch of self cooked meals before getting back on the road.
In the evening, I walked around downtown and one of the ancient forts. St. Augustine happens to be the oldest city in America. It was founded in 1585, long before the Mayflower reached Plymouth Rock. As a result, the downtown area is full of narrow streets and many of the buildings have been around for a loooong time.
The fort is cool, but it's tough to imagine people defending the city from pirates hundreds of years ago. Now, the harbor is filled with sailboats, and the shores are lined with homes.
One and a half days until the wheels start turning again.
